April 2014 Weekend Workshop

 Our topical weekend workshops are the cornerstone of our teaching, available for new students as well as integral to our training programs. They are a fabulous way to experience hands-on learning and practice of Pathways energy work, and understand the spiritual principles and core concepts that Pathways for Healing is known for.

 

Through our method of Nervous System Energy Work (NSEW) we have developed a range of techniques and practices to build the basis for profound states of quiet and calm for our clients. This systematic work includes ways to quiet the amygdala and limbic system (anxiety, fear, emotions), work to settle and soothe the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight) and work to increase vagal tone and parasympathetic capacity (safety and social engagement). 

 

Through doing this work for others we have recognized that this work also creates a template for our own energy and nervous system. These “seed experiences” can be carried over into ways of working on ourselves, allowing us to replicate these same states of quiet and calm more readily within our own being.We have found this very helpful for quieting negative self talk, soothing ourselves in stress and daily life challenges, and enhancing our meditative and prayer practice. 

 

In this workshop we will alternate artfully between hands-on work with each other to discover and deepen states of calm and quiet, and using these states as templates for personal practices, exercises and meditations.

 

You will learn:

 

  • NSEW fundamentals for working in the energy of the nervous system
  • Using NSEW to calm, sooth and create inner quiet for others.
  • Specific energy work in the limbic system of the brain and in the autonomic nervous system to build a foundation for greater states of quiet in the body and mind.
  • To use the experience of these states in your own body and as templates or “seed experiences” for individual practices.
  • How NS calm and quiet supports a more coherent energy field and how a coherent field supports the development of consciousness.
  • Practices one can do for oneself that utilize "seed experiences" from hands on energy work to more readily replicate states of quiet.
