Summer Residential Retreat 2012: The Heart In the Medicine Wheel

This residential retreat workshop is open to everyone, new students as well as those experienced with Pathways for Healing work. Daily talks, meditation and practice sessions, beautiful grounds, pool, facilities of Our Lady of the Pines Retreat Center, and sharing meals, all combine to make this retreat a very special experience.

Medicine Wheels have been part of indigenous earth-based spiritual traditions throughout the world. These teachings are embedded in the circular rhythms of nature: the seasons, night and day, the waxing and waning of the moon, the circadian cycles of the body, and our passage through the seasons of life.

Medicine Wheel practices intimately connect us to the powerful forces of the Earth. They generate a natural alchemy that puts us in accord with ourselves and helps to spiritually refresh and balance us as we move through each day.

The Medicine Wheel of the Heart orients this alchemical process from that chakra, the meeting place of our spiritual and physical being. It gives us access to the Heart Center’s transformative potential in a way that is profoundly grounded in our living world.

In this residential retreat setting we will:

• Continue our exploration of heart energy and heart healing.
• Study and practice with the Medicine Wheel as a spiritual map and guide for life.
• Learn to pray the Medicine Wheel from the perspective of our heart as a way to enhance our healing and knowing of self.
• Build an energy field to support our learning through hands-on energy work.
• Learn to connect with the living world of earth, plants, animals and the natural elements.
• Learn to release habits of our heart-center fixations.
• Enjoy all the grace that comes with being together and sharing this precious work of the heart in the beautiful natural setting of our retreat center.

We will be doing many of the practices out of doors, so bring your sunscreen, rain gear, and footwear. The retreat center also has an outdoor swimming pool so be sure to bring your swimsuit.The center also has a new cook and we are working hard to develop an improved menu.

Our retreat location is at Our Lady of the Pines in Fremont, Ohio, which is an hour and a half from Cleveland, Ohio and an hour from Toledo, Ohio. The beautiful grounds and spiritual atmosphere makes this an ideal setting for personal development.
